Petronet LNG Limited is one of the fastest growing world-class Public Limited Company in the Indian energy sector. The Company had set up South East Asia's first LNG Receiving and Regasification Terminal with an original nameplate capacity of 5 MMTPA at Dahej, Gujarat. The infrastructure was developed in the shortest possible time and at a benchmark cost. The capacity of the terminal has been expanded in phases which is currently 17.5 MMTPA and the same is under expansion to 22.5 MMTPA in two phases. The terminal has 6 LNG storage tanks and other vaporization facilities. The terminal is meeting around 40% of the total gas demand of the country

During the quarter ended 31st December, 2018 (current quarter), the Company processed 202 TBTU of LNG, as against 217 TBTU in Q2, 2018-19 (previous quarter) and 223 TBTU in Q3, 2017-18 (corresponding quarter). The Company’s Dahej terminal has operated at around 103% of its nameplate capacity and processed a volume of 197 TBTU of LNG in the current quarter, as against 211 TBTU in the previous quarter and 215 TBTU in the corresponding quarter. Kochi terminal handled 5 TBTUs of LNG.
The Company has processed highest ever volume of 639 TBTU over nine months period ending 31st December, 2018, as compared to 634 TBTU processed in the corresponding nine-month period ending 31st December, 2017.
The Company has reported PBT of Rs 811 Crore and PAT of Rs 565 Crore in the current quarter. The PBT and PAT reported in the previous quarter were Rs 867 Cr and Rs 563 Cr respectively. The PBT and PAT reported in the corresponding quarter were Rs 748 Cr and Rs 529 Cr respectively.
The Company registered highest ever PBT of Rs 2,579 Cr over the nine months period ending 31st December, 2018, which stood at Rs 2,264 Cr in the corresponding period, witnessing a growth of 14%. The Company registered the highest ever PAT of Rs 1,715 Cr over the nine months period ending 31st December, 2018, which stood at Rs 1,555 Cr in the corresponding period, witnessing a growth of 10%.
The significant increase in profit year to date, is due to higher volumes processed owing to better efficiency in operations.
